World Theatre Day is celebrated on March 27 and was created by the International Theatre Institute (ITI) in 1961. Its main objective is to publicize what theatre represents for culture worldwide.
As part of artistic education we have decided to include drama in the subject, which will allow our students to:
- Improve self-esteem, creativity and empathy.
- Express, interpret and control feelings and emotions.
- Work on body expression and non-verbal language.
- Improve pronunciation and oral expression in public (English).
- Promote communication and socialization.
In the 3rd term, students of 1, 2 and 3 ESO are doing drama. Drama makes a lesson more active and engaging for students. It encourages them to think and act creatively, improve their English reading and speaking skills, and also their body language. We love having fun while learning!
In 1ESO we are exploring the real-life story of a refugee family and their cat, through the book ‘Lost and found cat. The true story of Kunkush’s incredible journey’ . We use storytelling, discussion and drama activities such as, “freeze-frames”, “thought tracking” and “action clip”. Sura and her family fled Irak and became refugees in Europe. They took their cat Kunkush with them, but he was lost on the journey. Following intervention from aid-workers and communities across the world, the family and Kunkush were reunited.
Students of 2ESO are studying Shakespeare’s play ‘Romeo and Juliet’ through drama activities. They are learning the structure of the play, understanding the rhythm of Shakespeare and the Iambic Pentameter while performing some lines of these tragedy.
Students of 3ESO are making short films. Now, they have the chance to become directors, actors, screenwriters and camera operators. Filmmaking helps students to develop their creativity, and communication & teamwork skills.
El Día Mundial del Teatro se celebra el 27 de marzo de cada año y fue creado por Instituto Internacional del Teatro (ITI) en el año 1961. Su principal objetivo, es dar a conocer lo que representa el teatro para la cultura a nivel mundial.
Como parte de la educación artística hemos decidido incluir en la asignatura el arte dramático, el cual permitirá a nuestro alumnado:
- Mejorar la autoestima, la creatividad y la empatía.
- Expresar, interpretar y controlar sentimientos y emociones.
- Trabajar la expresión corporal y el lenguaje no verbal.
- Mejorar la pronunciación y la expresión oral en público (inglés)
- Favorecer la comunicación y la socialización.
En la 3ª evaluación, el alumnado de 1º, 2º y 3º de ESO se introducirá en el mundo del arte dramático en la asignatura Arts & Drama. El teatro en el aula hace que las clases sean más activas e interesantes. Además favorece el autoconocimiento y la expresión corporal y oral, así como la comprensión lectora. Al ser una asignatura que se imparte en inglés, estamos mejorando el uso de esta lengua mientras nos divertimos.
En 1ºESO exploramos la historia real de una familia de refugiados y su gato, a través del libro ‘Lost and found cat. The true story of Kunkush’s incredible journey’ . Usamos la narración, el debate y actividades de teatro como “freeze frames”, “thought tracking” y “action clip”. Sura y sus 5 hijos huyeron de Irak y se convirtieron en refugiados en Europa. Se llevaron detrás a su gato Kunkush, pero se perdió por el camino. Gracias a la intervención de trabajadores y trabajadoras humanitarias, y un grupo enorme de gente de todo el mundo, la familia consiguió volver a reunirse con Kunkush.
En 2ºESO estudiamos la obra de Shakespeare ‘Romeo y Julieta’ a través de actividades teatrales. Aprendemos la estructura de la obra, entendiendo el ritmo Shakesperiano y el Pentámetro Yámbico, tan famoso en las obras de este autor. Además, los alumnos y alumnas interpretarán algunas partes de la tragedia que sufrieron los Montescos y los Capuletos.
En 3ºESO trabajamos los cortos. Los alumnos y alumnas tienen la oportunidad de convertirse en directores, actores, actrices, guionistas y cámaras. A través del cine, los estudiantes desarrollan su creatividad y sus habilidades de comunicación y trabajo en equipo.
