A medida que nos acercamos a la recta final de la 2 Evaluación, nuestro alumnado de la ESO se está preparando para sus exámenes, pero antes tenía que completar los proyectos. La clase de inglés no debe limitarse a aprobar un examen o aprender simplemente a conjugar verbos. Trabajar juntos o de manera independiente y aplicar lo que hemos aprendido en un idioma extranjero es esencial para mejorar y aprender a comunicarse realmente. Estos son algunos de los resultados de nuestros proyectos de la ESO.
El alumnado de 1 ESO ha estudiado sobre la comida callejera y la cultura esta evaluación. Qué mejor manera de aplicar lo que están aprendiendo que creando su propio FOOD TRUCK. Cada grupo hacía un plan sobre qué tipo de comida vender y a qué precio, además de tener que elaborar un eslogan llamativo y el nombre original para su restaurante sobre ruedas y presentarlo a la clase. Los resultados fueron estos carteles creativos.
Se pidió al alumnado de 2ESO que hiciera un proyecto de reflexión individual. Después de aprender sobre diferentes carreras profesionales, cada estudiante tuvo que hacer una presentación oral en Keynote en su iPad sobre “Lo que quiero ser”. Nunca es pronto para pensar en una futura carrera profesional. Nuestro alumnado demostró su ambición de ser futuros científicos, médicos, programadores informáticos, bomberos e incluso pilotos de carrera.
3 ESO ha estado trabajando el medio ambiente a través de vocabulario y lecturas. Nuestros jóvenes saben que este tema es una prioridad y que se deben tomar medidas para prevenir los efectos negativos del cambio climático. El alumnado abordó la importancia de reducir el plástico con carteles creativos que promueven la concienciación y propusieron alternativas al uso de plásticos. Los resultados fueron excelentes.
4 ESO trató el tema del activismo. Cada estudiante tuvo que redactar una biografía, preparar una presentación de Keynote en su iPad y dar una charla en clase sobre alguien que destacase por su aportación en el ámbito del activismo. Aprendimos sobre Martin Luther King Jr., Mohatma Ghandi y otros. La favorita de la clase fue Greta Thunberg, ya que muchos vieron en ella como alguien de su edad podía hacer mucho por promover un diálogo importante sobre el medio ambiente.
As we approach the end of the second semester, our ESO students are preparing for their exams, but not before they’ve completed their project work. English class is not always about passing an exam or learning how to conjugate verbs. Working together or independently and applying what we´ve learned in a foreign language is essential for improving and learning to really communicate. Here are some of the results of our projects in the ESO.
1 ESO students learned about street food and culture in this term. What better way to apply what they have learned than by creating their own FOOD TRUCK. Each group had to make a plan for what kind of food to sell and at what price as well as come up with a catchy slogan and name for their original restaurant on wheels. The results were these creative posters and presentations.
2 ESO students were asked to do an individual reflection project. After learning about different careers, each student had to make an oral presentation in Keynote in their iPad about “What I want to be.” It´s never too soon to think about a future career path. Our students demonstrated their ambitions to be future scientists, doctors, firefighters computer programmers and even race car drivers.
3 ESO has been working on vocabulary and readings related to our Environment. Our youth know that this topic is a priority and measures need to be taken to prevent the negative effects of Climate Change. The students tackled the important idea of reducing plastic with creative posters promoting awareness and proposing alternatives to using plastics. Here are some of the results.
4 ESO took on the topic of activism. Each student had to write a biography, prepare a Keynote presentation and give a talk in class about someone who had made a difference or has worked to benefit our society in some way. We learned about Martin Luther King Jr., Mohatma Ghandi as well as others. The class favorite was by far Greta Thunberg as many saw that someone their own age could do so much for the betterment of many.
