Estamos tan acostumbrados a la actual división por edades de los niños en la escuela que es una situación que observamos con normalidad. Pero cada vez más, en el Colegio Los Naranjos, nos gusta realizar actividades inter-aula donde niños de diferentes edades se mezclan para realizar una actividad común y los resultados son excelentes.
Dibujar y pintar les motiva y eso es vital en cualquier clase de Arts & Crafts.
Todos los alumnos han participado en este proyecto tan divertido, desde los alumnos de primaria hasta los de la ESO. De hecho, los alumnos de 6º de primaria y 1º de la ESO trabajaron juntos, pues consideramos que era una buena oportunidad para, además fomentar la inteligencia interpersonal.
“Todo el mundo pinta cuando es pequeño”. Estas palabras de Keith Haring definen uno de los aspectos más importantes de la infancia: la imaginación y la creatividad. Es por ello que desde el Departamento de Arts & Crafts hemos decidido realizar un proyecto sobre Keith Haring. Nacido en Pennsylvania un 4 de Mayo de 1958 decidió dedicar toda su vida a impulsar su propia manera de ver el arte: un arte para todo el mundo, tanto para niños como para mayores. Pintó en el metro de Nueva York, en hospitales y en escuelas. Él quería que todo el mundo pintara, especialmente los niños… ¡ Y ASÍ LO HEMOS HECHO!
- Los objetivos de este proyecto han sido:conocer aspectos básicos de la vida de Keith Haring.
- Trabajar la teoría del color: colores primarios, secundarios y complementarios.
- Aprender a dibujar paso a paso los dibujos más característicos de Keith Haring.
- Desarrollar la creatividad y el trabajo en equipo.
Las artes plásticas ofrecen miles de beneficios: el fomento de la creatividad y la imaginación, estimular las habilidades cognitivas y despertar el interés y la motivación de nuestros alumnos. Además, implica abrir las puertas a un mundo lúdico y de diversión, y no poner límites a todas sus capacidades cognitivas, artísticas, emocionales y sensoriales, entre otras.
Pero… ¿por qué Keith Haring? Porque sus dibujos son bastante fáciles de dibujar y de pintar, puesto que solía utilizar los colores primarios y secundarios. Mirad el resultado final, una exposición de los dibujos hechos por cada uno de ellos.

Drawing and painting motivates them and that is vital in every Arts & Crafts class! All the students have participated in this enjoyable project, from the students in Primay to those in ESO. In fact, both the students in 6th and 1st ESO worked together, as we considered it was a great opportunity to promote their interpersonal intelligence.
“We all paint when we are kids.” These words by Keith Haring define one of the most important aspects in childhood: imagination and creativity. That is why the Arts & Crafts Department has decided to do a project about him. Born in Pennsylvania on the 4th of May of 1958, he decided to dedicate his entire life to promote his own way of understanding art: an art for everyone, both for kids and for adults. He painted in the subway of New York, in hospitals and schools. He wanted everybody to paint, specially the kids… SO, THAT’S WHAT WE HAVE DONE!
The objectives of this project were:
- to learn about basic aspects of Keith Haring’s life.
- To learn about the theory of colour: primary, secondary and complementary colours.
- To draw step by step some of the most important works by Keith Haring.
- To develop their creativity and to work in teams.
The plastic arts offer thousands of benefits: they promote their creativity and imagination, they stimulate their cognitive skills and awake their interest and motivation. Besides, they open the doors to a funny world and they also imply not putting limits to their cognitive, artistic, emotional or sensitive skills, among others.
But… Why Heith Haring? Mainly, because his drawings are quite simple to draw and paint, since he used to use primary and secondary colours. Look at the final result, an exhibition of the drawings made by our kids!
